I want this site to become a process of thinking out loud about current affairs, photography, films and books and that, with your contributions, we can find greater clarity in a complex world. Hogan's Alley incorporates my name with references to both Ben Hogan's mastery of the Riviera Country Club and to Fred Allen's "Allen's Alley". Golf is a passion with which I torture myself. Fred Allen each week presented American stereotypes with a humor and insight, which I hope to emulate.
