Hilarious Photographic Moments from The Ryder Cup

During the Ryder Cup golf tournament in Wales, Tiger Woods apparently badly hit a ball in the muddy, crowd-tromped rough that headed directly into a photographer's lens.

I particularly liked the expression of the gentleman on the right with the bad mustache and the cigar.  [Be sure to click on the photo to see a larger version, to get the full effect]  So did someone else.  When I noted this to my son, he replied with a link to this picture:

Photography - Henri Cartier-Bresson

Today's Flickr photo (below) called to mind the beautiful black and white photography of Cartier-Bresson. Working in Paris in the years before and after World War II, he produced work that emphasized the captured moment. It was called, famously in the title of a book and an exhibition of his work at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the "decisive moment".

It still represents the essence of the medium, its ability to freeze an instant of life.
